When Adam arrived, people’s reactions were mostly curious about how he’d look. Is he like his daddy? Does he take after his mommy?
The answer is yes, for both actually. Adam is the splitting image of Zsolt when he was a baby — but with slanted black eyes. Oh, and tan skin! Oh well, I mean darker, since he never really has sunbathed. But in overall, people would say he’s a caucasian baby.
Have you ever wished that your children would look more like you?
I’m actually happy that Adam takes after his daddy (well, if he were black then Zsolt might ask for a DNA test :p). That being said, some people just can’t believe that I’m actually Adam’s mommy, and not his maid.
When we went to the Indonesian embassy, for example, the security guard simply ignored my questions and chose to spoke in English to Zsolt. I bet he thought I was Zsolt’s maid, and we were going to apply for a new passport for me.
No offense for maids who happen to read this post. There’s nothing wrong with being a maid, really. If you’re an Indonesian woman who lives in Singapore, there are times when somebody asked whether you’re a maid. I’ve got used to that, considering that many maids are from Indonesia.
It’s just a case when a mommy wants to be acknowledged where acknowledgment is due.
Maybe next time I’d want twins, like these incredible twins — then there’d be no more mistaking. One would look like me, and another is like Zsolt :p What do you think?

I can imagine how you feel. LOL Bonnie looked exactly like her father. Even the skin was fair and her hair was brown. People would say, Ohhh so cute like her daddy? I was like, what the mother not cute ke? LOL Fortunately nobody ever asked whether I was the babysitter or the maid even with my looking like an Indonesian to some Indonesians back home in M’sia.

Interesting, eh? lol I’ve got questions like, “Are you the mother?”. And all the while I was carrying Adam. Zsolt can get away from such questions :p Should I wear “Baby Momma” tee?

The t-shirt idea is good, maybe you should do that.
Yesterday chatting with my mil, b4 Bonnie was born, she thought definitely would look like me, the she said she got surprised when she saw Bonnie’s pic and said “tiszta Andris”. LOL What did your MIL say?

Forgot to ask something. Why don’t you upload Adam’s picture to a website with password so we can see his development. Now that he is 2 months old? Good time to see… hu hu hu… chubby chubby. Chatted with Nour on Facebook, told her to visit you soon, since Adam should be in good “shape” to hold, press… LOL

hohoho….i like this quote: some people just can’t believe that I’m actually Adam’s mommy, and not his maid.
This is my observation based on my experience. I realised that I needed to dress up neatly and presentable ( I mean no daster, old bermudas nor worn out T-shirt, not forgetting sombing my ever unruly hair) when I bring my son out for a walk, when he was a baby. Otherwise, those aunties would think I was the nanny! Waaaadaaaawww…

Syari: My mil said the same, but I agree
Judging from Zsolt’s baby pics, they really look alike.
In other words: layzee :p
About the site, that’s a good idea but at the moment I can’t afford the time
Mbak Dyah: Yep, it’s annoying right? Daster is the best lol :p Funny thing is that these things only happen here in Singapore (or also Indonesia?). At least in the hubby’s kampong no one would think that way about me.
