“Residents in the Hungarian capital Budapest are fed up with the thousands of pigeons who’ve taken up residence in their apartment blocks. But what to do to curb their numbers? The city council is on the case but there’s every sign action against the birds will be a long time coming.”

Watch the video here.

I have an idea though. How about using their poo for facial?

Would you pay USD 180 to get your face covered with bird poo for fifty minutes? Apparently some spa goers would. In a bid to look young, some women in New York City are willing to give it a try:

“The Geisha Facial given at Shizuka New York, a day spa in midtown Manhattan, doesn’t contain just any run of the mill pigeon poo. It’s made from dried nightingale droppings imported from Japan and mixed with rice bran.”

Spa owner Shizuka Bernstein said Japanese geishas had used nightingale droppings to remove their heavy make-up, and not only it worked, it also left their skin smooth.

Well, I’m not sure about you, the last time we had bird dropping on our car was a few months ago. And instead leaving our car smooth, it has permanently damaged the paint. We’ve talked to a workshop, and they said the only thing to remove it is by repainting the whole part. But then again, the bird wasn’t Japanese—

Are you one of those people who have been dieting for years and not seeing results? Well, I was. Meanwhile, some people can just eat whatever they want and still get away with it — and they said it’s all down to good genes. It’s so not fair, and I don’t think it’s right. Most likely you just have to change your method, that’s all.

Most people want to lose weight for health, well being, and lifestyle reasons. Which one are you? When I was younger, I was like 8 kg heavier than I should have been. I wouldn’t say I was obese, but I fell to peer pressure. I was often told about how fat I was, and of course, it affected my self esteem in a negative way. Hence the diet.

I know it’s unhealthy. In many cases it could lead to anorexia and other eating disorders. Fortunately I love food too much to go through such routes.

Nevertheless, I did try many kinds of diets, vegan, atkins, I took diet pills, I drank slimming tea, yadda yadda yadda.

Yet I forgot one thing: no matter what kind of method you choose, you need to decrease your portions. Eat small in order to stay small! No diet would work when you eat too much.

It actually took me years to realize that, and to do that — since I can’t stop snacking, but it has worked. My weight had been stable since six years ago at 37 - 39 kg (I’m only 149 cm, mind you). Of course, now I can’t say the same during pregnancy, but that’s a different story.

If, like most people, you still believe that you must cut down your fat, you should visit this site to find which is best: low fat vs. low carbs You’d be surprised with the answer. Oh, and make sure your diet program won’t sacrifice your health!

There is no such a thing called shortcut to weight loss. It takes time, it’s difficult, and in some cases it can be expensive too. I never chose the latter though. What I did was simply to stick to these five tips to maintain my weight. It worked for me, why wouldn’t it work for you?

If that’s still too difficult to handle, maybe you’d want to get a hand from one of the diet plans available on that site. Take Medifast, for example. They offer easy weight loss program by controlling your portions and calories — for a price, of course. Discount promotions are also available online for you to save when you join them.

The last step is to exercise. This is actually the most difficult part for me, but you can do better than that. Like it or not, you burn calories while doing it. Check out this article for some motivations to exercise.

So, there you go. That’s all you need to know before planning your diet. Hope it helps!

Note to self: I should remember to get back to this page to help me shed my baby weight later.
