Since Wednesday, July 30, the local Islamic religious police ban people from selling dogs and cats as pets. Not only that, but those who own them are also not allowed to walk them in public. Why is that, we hear you ask. In case you haven’t known, single men often use cats and dogs to “lure” girls in public squares and malls.

If you’re caught with a pet, it will be confiscated and you must sign a document pledging not to repeat the act. There is, however, a loophole in the ban: it doesn’t address women.

So, unless you’re a woman in Saudi Arabia, stay away from cats and dogs!
