Large is the realm of Indonesia. But she is acquainted with grief for every wound she has suffered throughout her span. Another day could mean another wound, as today had proven.
‘She is standing upon the ring of fire,’ some wandering men cried. But some others answered, ‘No, this is merely punishment for the folk’s insolence and folly!’ Some sought counsel in their inmost thought and believed that they were doomed to death.
Whatever betides; is there naught we might do? Shall we wait till we all fall lifeless?
Following is a list of some of the disasters to hit Indonesia from Reuters since the Asian tsunami of 2004:

News story about Camp LeJune in North Carolina about Marines getting cancer from “toxic water”. They scapegoat a local dry cleaner.
It came from the camp, and I suspect some of those stationed there did the actual dumping. We’ve seen this type of behavior in Concord, causing an inordinantly high mental retardation rate within select neighborhoods.
They were careful to cover this dumping with the dry cleaner issue because they want them continuing with their current behavior. A major scandal like this among the red state’s military meatheads would shake their confidence to the core and initiate permanent changes.

From ur name, i knew that u have an Indonesian Root.. maybe u feel that Indonesia’s government have a lot of mistakes (like we do).. but please, if you want to send some articles.. don’t give any chance to somebody else use it to attack Indonesia. I lived in Malaysia for a long time.. but I still proud be Indonesian.. coz i realize that no country in d world have a “perfect government”…

Hi chika, thx for dropping by. I never hide my origin because I am Indonesian citizen and proud of my country. I understand that no country has perfect government, then why afraid to admist our weakness? Failure in admitting our own weaknesses will lead to more destruction, no? Saying that, I still disagree that some ppl quote the content of this website without my permission…if you know what I mean

Ring of fire, that’s make Indonesia beautiful, and no wonder natural disaster like earthquake, tsunami, volcano eruption, storm and other natural disaster always happen in Indonesia, about transportation accident, all country have the same problem.
Chika right your article give any chance to somebody else use it to attack Indonesia you can visit this blog http://ihateindon.blogspot.com/ he quote your bad opinion about Indonesia.
Right know you are in Singapore, you should promote the beautiful of Indonesia to the world, I also hate the government here especially in corruption and bureaucracy, but it all are our internal problem, we still trying to solve those problems, I still love Indonesia, I born here, grow up here, study here, work here, and will have my own family here, so no reason for me to hate my country although i get wealthiness and living in other country like you did.
Right or wrong is my country…

Hi Pandu, I know that blog has quoted the content of my post without my permission. All I can do is taking that particular post to avoid further flaming. But one is entitle to one’s own opinion. I tried to balance my opinions by writing both good and bad things. Have you read them?
Comment by ayulittleone — December 18, 2007 @ 2:02 am
nope, they just quote bad things about Indonesia delete the good things and your link about that article is not function anymore
Comment by pandu — December 18, 2007 @ 2:33 am
That’s my point. They seem to have exaggerated what I said to further their own cause. Of course good news is not news, that’s why no one cares to comment on my “Ten Things I Love about Indonesia” *sigh*. I wrote the post exactly 2 years ago, so I don’t really understand why suddenly ppl protested. FYI, I never had the slightest idea to badmouth my own country, why would I? In fact, if we lived apart from our homeland, the closer it would be in our heart *homesick*
If you browsed through this blog you should find the same articles about Hungary, “The Ten Things” I love and hate about the country. It doesn’t mean that I hate Hungary, as is the same that I don’t hate Indonesia. But I was trying to sum up the bad and good things I experienced in the place where I lived. I have thought of writing the same posts about Singapore, but I cannot find the time just yet–maybe later.

it is wised if you can critics your own country from objectives side, but you cannot protect your article from being cropping by irresponsible people to counter attack your belove country.
may be last 2 years nobody comment about your article, because you write your article in balance way, as you know, right know Indonesia and Malaysia are fighting in Internet Zone, your article was found by malaysian who hate Indonesia then they modified your article just showing bad things about Indonesia.
That’s way people came to your blog and flood your blog by their comment who blame you, and think you are not nationalist.
So be careful with your writing…

Thx for the advice. You’re right, of course. But since I did write the posts, I’ll just have to take responsibility for what I said. No harm was meant.
