I am so pleased to hear this story. I have been nursing a 2 day old cat, that is now 11 days old. She has survived the entire litter. I am PROUD 2 call her MIRACLE as well!!!! Thanks for the inspiration.

I love stories like this one!

As someone who has driven the entire length of the New Jersey Turnpike numerous times, I can imagine Miracle's journey pretty well. Thankfully, the Turnpike has a fairly low speed limit. Maybe that helped save the cat's life.

A similar story popped up in a New Hampshire newspaper (where I'll soon be working as a copy editor) over the Christmas season. A man heard the muffled cries of a cat coming from inside a Dumpster and found the poor thing sealed inside a cardboard box. Can you imagine anyone being able to do that to a living creature? The cat was soon named "Christmas Kitty" by the workers at an animal shelter that nursed it back to health. Here's a link to a recent article about the man who adopted the cat: http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/01072006/news/81727.htm
