Miss Indonesia 2004 or what is locally known as Puteri Indonesia, Artika Sari Devi was the only delegate from Asia who could get into the semi final of this year’s Miss Universe. Not forgetting the attitude of gratitude for her recent achievement, on June 12 she held a party at the Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, Jakarta.

The twenty-five year-old beauty, though, expressed her concern towards people’s objection on her involvement in the Miss Universe pageant. She could not understand why they see things from the negative perspectives. “Why is it not easy for me to bring a better change? I just don’t get it, although I have to say that’s what makes me strong,” she claimed. She had no regret over her participation on the beauty pageant for she learned many useful things there.

A small issue which ruined her happiness is that on the final, she received an message from on her mobile telling that her topless pictures were posted on the internet. Shedding a tear, she explained that the pictures were unreal; they had been modified.

However, despite her delight that she was chosen as Puteri Indonesia 2004, people’s choice went to the first girl ever to wear headscarf on a beauty pageant: Andina Agustina.
